The undergraduate program in English Studies focuses on practical skills and combines several modules, such as: linguistics, intensive language learning, as well as cultural and historical background of the English speaking countries. Thanks to this approach, students gain multifaceted skills, including language competencies, academic reading and writing, multicultural awareness, and teaching English as a foreign language (TEFL).

Requirements: English proficiency - CEFR B2 or higher, supported by appropriate English proficiency certificates.


If you are interested in other cultures, have a passion for learning languages and meeting diverse people, the English Studies Program at SWPS University may be the right choice for you. Prospective students should be able to speak English at the CEFR B2 or higher level and must provide appropriate English proficiency certificates. Multicultural Environment

Teaching English as a Foreign Language

Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) prepares students for a teaching career. Graduates of the program work in public, private and language schools. They may also choose to open their own language school or combine teaching with a translation career. Students gain competencies in the latest teaching methodologies and acquire extensive skills in Teaching English for Specific Purposes (ESP). During teaching internships, under the guidance of a coordinator, students create their own European Portfolio for Student Teachers of Languages.

English in Business and Media

English in Business and Media is focused on teaching business English with elements of economy, marketing and public relations. Students learn about organizational structure, business management, business environment and market issues. They also become familiar with the style of business writing and learn to develop business plans, reports and business strategy. Moreover, they gain general business skills, such as presentation or negotiation skills and learn about business code of conduct.

Translation Studies

Translation Studies focus on translation theory and practice and on intensive language skills development. All courses are taught by experienced translators and linguists. Students become familiar with the requirements of general and specialized translation. They practice various translation methods and techniques employed in written and oral translation. All translation courses are developed in accordance with the guidelines of the European Union’s Directorate-General for Translation.

  3. Send the required documents to the Admissions Office.
  4. Pay the Tuition Fee.
  5. Wait for a Conditional Acceptance Letter.
  6. Wait for the Final Acceptance.
  7. Upon your arrival in Poland, submit original documents to the Admissions Office.
  8. During the first semester, submit the Nostrificaiton of your diploma.
