Warsaw - Best City for Erasmus Exchange

Warsaw - Best City for Erasmus Exchange

The Italian daily, La Repubblica, reports that a survey conducted among international students indicates that Warsaw is one of the best European cities to study and live in, during Erasmus exchange. The newspaper notes that many Italians give high marks to study programs in Poland.

Ranking of 15 European Cities

The ranking of the best higher education institutions that offer Erasmus exchange programs has been compiled by the international portal Uniplaces. The portal helps students to find accommodation during their studies abroad.

The ranking assessed factors such as cost of accommodation, tuition fees, average prices in budget friendly restaurants, cost of monthly tickets for public transport, and the number of public universities in the city. Among 15 European cities included in the ranking, Warsaw has scored the highest marks on all the criteria.

The Italian newspaper highlights that the cost of accommodation is one of the lowest in Europe, there are no university fees, and the prices of food and transportation are low. In comparison, London is the most expensive city to live in, followed by Paris and Milan.

SWPS University hosts over 150 Erasmus students, annually. We offer six different majors in two cities, including Psychology, English Studies, Spanish Studies, International Business Management and Law in Warsaw as well as a Design Program in Poznań.

Italians Favor Warsaw

La Repubblica notes that many Italians choose Warsaw for their Erasmus exchange. The newspaper quotes an Italian language history professor, Fabio Rossi, from the University of Messina, in Sicily: “The exchange agreement that we have signed with the university in the capital of Poland is one of our most fruitful international collaborations.”

Moreover, the article titled “Erasmus, Warsaw is the best”, notes that there is no need for international students to speak Polish, because the majority of universities offer programs in English, French, and German.

“Students return from Poland very happy and exams that they take once back in Italy, indicate that they are more than prepared” - claims Professor Rossi. He adds that Italian students describe Poles as very hospitable people, who speak foreign languages and are very open to cooperation.
