International

Close and purposeful collaborations with other higher education institutions from around the world are crucial for ensuring a university’s continual growth, quality of teaching, and excellence in research. SWPS University develops different cooperation and exchange formulas with institutional partners in Europe and beyond to complement each other’s expertise.

Partnering with Global Leaders in Education

Our institutional partners include Renmin University of China (ranked among the top 100 universities in Asia according to 2019 Times Higher Education (THE) World University Ranking), SUSTech (a leading young technical university in China), Arizona State University (top US state research-focused university), University College London in the UK (one of world’s best universities for research), Koç University in Turkey (ranked among top 100 in 2019 THE Young University Rankings), Tilburg University in the Netherlands (one of the leading Dutch universities in the field of social sciences), the University of Oslo (a prominent Nordic research institution), the University of Limerick (top Irish university), and Sapir College in Israel (a leading higher education institution in the field of social engagement). Striving for Teaching Excellence

Within the framework of the Integrated Program for University Development, financed by the ESF Operational Programme Knowledge Education Development, we cooperate with several universities in the United Kingdom and the Netherlands to provide international development opportunities for our teaching faculty, such as internships and teaching Masterclasses (i.e. intensive training courses delivered by guest lecturers at our campuses in Poland). Our partners in this program include University College London, the University of Lincoln, Bath Spa University, the University of Northampton, the University of Surrey, the University of Tilburg, and the University of Groningen. The goal of the program is to equip our teachers with knowledge and skills shared by their colleagues from the UK and the Netherlands, as well as foster professional relationships between academics from Poland, the Netherlands, and the UK..

Tutoring Pilot Program

SWPS University participates in the “Masters of Didactics” program led by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Poland, and financed by the ESF Operational Programme Knowledge Education Development. The aim of the project is to develop and implement new tutoring solutions at Polish higher education institutions, focused on supporting talented students. Our faculty have an opportunity to develop their tutoring skills at renowned European universities, such as the University in Oslo, Ghent University, the University of Groningen, University College London, and Aarhus University. Following their study visits, teachers first implement new tutoring methods in their classrooms, and then we adapt them across the University.

Journey to Changemaker Certificate (J2CC)

In 2019, our Management and Leadership Program, as the first university in Poland and continental Europe, was awarded the Journey to Changemaker Certificate (J2CC) by Ashoka. The award is a recognition of the university’s commitment to changemaking, understood as teaching, promoting and fostering the spirit of social entrepreneurship. The certification process, financed by the ESF Operational Programme Knowledge Education Development, involved training at the University of Northampton in the UK, one of only two European Ashoka Changemaker Campuses. We believe that by embarking on the changemaking journey, we are one step closer to joining the network of higher education institutions dedicated to empowering their students and staff to transform their universities into hubs of social innovation and engagement.
