Wrocław Faculty of Psychology of SWPS University of Social Sciences and Humanities is inviting applications for the position of Postdoctoral Researcher in the research project “Explaining Sedentary Behavior with the Revised Reflective and Impulsive HAPA (R+I HAPA) Model” led by Professor Aleksandra Łuszczyńska, financed by the National Science Centre (NCN) (grant number UMO-2017/27/B/HS6/00092). APPLY

Responsibilities:

  • Co-supervising the research process, including tasks 1-10
  • Assuming the leading role in the data analysis and report writing
  • Managing the research team, overseeing data collection, coordination of the participants’ register and the data base (in particular registration of participants and identification of suitable participants)
  • Co-developing educational and intervention materials
  • Creating and managing the online content related to the project
  • Preparing individual feedback based on the accelerometric measurement of study participants, every week for three weeks of the accelerometry procedure
  • Collecting data from 200 older individuals, over 60 years of age, (in all measurement points and an intervention in 60 participants, i.e. 300 measurement points).

Qualifications:

  • Doctoral degree in social sciences obtained not later than 2 years before the start of the project (between September 2016 and September 2018)
  • Excellent research achievements, including publications in international journals
  • Ability to conduct multivariate analysis
  • Previous participation in research projects financed by national and international research grants
  • Availability to conduct research in Wrocław and surrounding areas

Language requirements:

  • Fluent Polish – main language of work
  • Very good command of English

  • Assisting in coordination of data collection among adolescents (12-18 years of age) or adults (18-58 years of age)
  • Contacting study participants prior to every measurement point or every intervention, making appointments with participants etc., supervising additional staff collecting data among adults
  • Sending data from accelerometers to study participants and data management, including preparation of individual feedback based on the accelerometric measurements of adult study participants, following each of the three weeks of the accelerometry procedure (3 x n = 50 adults)
  • Collecting data at all measurement points and intervention in 15 adults, i.e. 75 measurement points
  • Data entry, data management, data analysis, and reporting results to the principal investigator
  • Co-developing reports and publications.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Psychology
  • Current enrollment in doctoral studies
  • Excellent research achievements, including publications in international journals
  • Ability to conduct multivariate analysis
  • Previous participation in research projects financed by national and international research grants
  • Availability to conduct research in Wrocław and surrounding areas.
