LOKALNIE! [LOCALLY!] is the theme of this year’s SWPS University Festival, an annual event celebrating our school and community. This year, we will venture beyond the Warsaw campus and explore our neighborhood, the small and not widely known Kamionek district. Kamionek is a predominantly working class neighborhood, rich in history and culture, located on the right bank of the Vistual River. We would like to rediscover the area and highlight its best points. Therefore we have organized multiple events, including guided walks, outdoor games, visits to museums and workshops of local craftsmen. The event will also offer personal development workshops.

This year, we will also celebrate the 15th Anniversary of SWPS University’s Interdisciplinary Doctoral Studies Program.

The Festival will take place on June 9th and 10th. Free admission. Some events require registration »

 Concert Performances

Ofelia, i.e. Iga Krefft, singer, musician, and composer. She often says that only music makes her feel whole. Music allows her to experience the world in a unique and special way. Music is Ofelia’s greatest love, very special and personal. She channels all this love and passes it forward to her fans during live concerts, where she plays a variety of rock and blues, inspired by the sounds of the 1970s. During the concert, accompanied by her four-member band, she will perform music from her debut period as well as new songs form the upcoming album.

Marika, i.e. Marta Kosakowska, has been called the first lady of the Polish dancehall and the Jamaican ambassador to Poland. Her music combines several genres, including reggae, ragga, dancehall, soul, funk, and nu-jazz. She began her career as the vocalist for the sound system Bass Medium Trinity. Her debut album “Plenty” appeared in 2008. It was followed by critically acclaimed and popular with audiences „Put your shoes on/off”, „ChiliZet Live Sessions”, and „Marta Kosakowska”. Marika has played all popular clubs in Poland, as a solo performer and a vocalist for Breakbeat Propaganda, Bass Medium Trinity. She has also worked with the best scouts and DJs in the country.
