Main areas (industries) in which we operate
The penitentiary system plays a vital role in maintaining public order and safety. It protects society from offenders incarcerated in regular and remand prisons, not only by isolating them from the public, but also by utilizing re-socialization activities to prepare such individuals to become functioning members of society, avoid conflicts with the law, and refrain from reoffending.
As a key component of state security structures, the penitentiary system collaborates with other uniformed formations: the Police, Fire Service, Border Guard, the ABW, and the military. In executing the tasks of resocialization, the penitentiary system partners with associations, public benefit organizations and institutions, churches and religious associations, and probation officers.

What is it like to work in direct contact with inmates serving sentences for the worst offenses?
