Fundacja Aktywnej Rehabilitacji FAR
The FAR Foundation for Active Rehabilitation has been conducting social and vocational activation programs for people with various disabilities since 1988. It began its activities by helping people with spinal cord injuries who use wheelchairs. It is an organization founded by wheelchair users for wheelchair users. It teaches how to move around in a wheelchair, lead a normal life and realize their dreams. Support is conducted in the form of individual sessions and camps. The foundation conducts vocational activation projects aimed at People with significant and moderate degrees of disability. Among other things, the projects include: training to improve skills, vocational activation workshops, internships, individual consultations with a job coach. The projects aim to bring people with disabilities into the labor market. FAR instructors also provide support for children moving around on wheelchairs and their families. The foundation organizes camps and workshops for children and parents. Children aged 4-16 participate in the activities. Through the presentation of personal role models - wheelchair instructors - and active training, participants strengthen self-confidence, self- reliance and independence. The Foundation carries out activities to increase people with various disabilities in sports activities. It organizes sports activities (bowling, wheelchair dancing). All FAR activities, aimed at project beneficiaries, are free of charge.
