”Community of Hearts” Association

The „Wspólnota Serc” (Community of Hearts) Association was founded in June 1997. The primary initiator of its establishment was Ms. Maria Popowicz, whose son, Łukasz, suffered from four-limb cerebral palsy. Ms. Maria dreamed of a place where Łukasz could receive rehabilitation, care, and support. Along with a group of parents of children with disabilities and with the support of Father Paweł Jakimcio, she registered the "Wspólnota Serc" Association.

Main areas (industries) in which we operate

• Rehabilitative equipment rental.
• „Osiedle Sitowie” Project – supporting participants in achieving independence through social and vocational activation.
• Self-Help Club for persons with mental health disorders.
• Housing training in assisted living apartments for 4 persons with intellectual disabilities.

As part of its activities, the „Wspólnota Serc” Association carries out tasks co-financed by PFRON (State Fund for Rehabilitation of Disabled People): Comprehensive rehabilitation of persons with disabilities aims at their full integration into society by increasing their independence, communication skills, mobility, and emotional stability. This process requires the commitment of both the individual with a disability and a team of specialists working together to achieve these goals.
