Social Insurance Institution, Branch in Wrocław
The Social Insurance Institution is an innovative public trust institution. On behalf of the State, it supervises and coordinates the universal social insurance system. Oversight of the Institution’s compliance with applicable regulations is exercised by the minister responsible for social security. The Institution operates on the basis of the Act on the Social Insurance System of 13 October 1998 and other acts regulating specific areas of its activity.

The Social Insurance Institution is responsible for the assessment and collection of social insurance and health insurance contributions, as well as the distribution of benefits (e.g., old-age pensions, disability pensions, sickness or maternity allowances).
