Słoneczny Dom Community Self-Help Center
The Słoneczny Dom Community Self-Help Center (ŚDS) is a day support center where a team of qualified therapists, together with a group of participants—who are the foremost specialists in the field of mental health crises—provide support on the journey toward restoring and developing the skills needed for independent living, learning, working, and shared recreation.
In a safe atmosphere, ŚDS Participants can:
- Gain a better understanding of the difficulties they experience
- Search for new ways of coping with crises
- Get to know themselves, their needs, and their potential better
- Develop more satisfying relationships and make new acquaintances
- Cultivate new passions and interests
- Find hope and greater peace by experiencing acceptance and understanding
We offer ŚDS participants the following forms of development:
- Individual support sessions
- Support groups
- Social skills training
- Psychoeducation
- Cognitive function training
- Art therapy
- Music therapy
- Physical activities
- English language classes
- Culinary training
- Editorial circle – we publish the "Alternatywa" newspaper at the Community Self-Help Center
- Educational and recreational outings
The ŚDS team works under regular supervision.
