Selen Karakılıç graduated from the Department of Psychology, Koc University, in Istanbul. During her undergraduate program, she conducted an independent study, under the supervision of Doç. Dr. Ayse Altan Atalay, on the mediating role of mistake rumination and worked as an undergraduate research assistant in the Child and Family Studies Lab and Transdiagnostic Risk Factors Lab. In addition to her research experience, she volunteered to assist experts working with mentally retarded young adults in the Support for Disabled Children and Family Center and is still working in collaboration with the clinical treatment team of Moodist Psychiatry and Neurology Hospital as an assistant psychologist.
