Professor Igor Borkowski is a media research and linguist. He carries out research on the practice of journalism, in particular the Polish press reportage, the language of political propaganda and public relations, and anthropology of communication in closed groups. He is also interested in thanatology.

He has published extensively on issues related to media and communication, for example Przez klasztorną kratę. Studia z antropologii komunikacji zakonnej (Through a Convent Gate. Studies in Communication Anthropology in Monasteries), published by Wydawnictwo Naukowe Uniwersytetu Kardynała Stefana Wyszyńskiego (2019), Porozmawiajmy jak Borkowski z Borkowską (Let’s Talk Like Borkowski and Borkowska), with Małgorzata Borkowska, a nun in the Order of Saint Benedict, published by Wydawnictwo Benedyktynów Tyniec (2019).

At SWPS University, he teaches classes in practical journalism, commentary, creative writing, and copywriting.
