Membership
in international organizations

International Association of Universities (IAU)

Founded in 1950 under the auspices of UNESCO, the organization brings together almost 600 members from over 120 countries. Its mission is to provide a platform for cooperation and exchange of knowledge between leaders in higher education. IAU works closely with the Council of Europe and has a special consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council.

European University Association (EUA)

EUA is Europe’s biggest and most comprehensive organization representing more than 900 universities and national rectors’ conferences in 48 European countries. EUA plays a crucial role in the Bologna Process and in influencing EU policies on higher education, research and innovation.

Business Graduates Association (BGA)

BGA was established in 2019 as part of the Association of MBAs (AMBA). It is a membership and accreditation body for business schools worldwide. BGA works with institutions to promote responsible management education, innovation, and sustainability. Its accreditation process complements AMBA’s established standards for MBA and master’s programs, while emphasizing continuous improvement and societal impact across all levels of business education.

Founded in 1990, Cumulus is a global association of art, design, and media higher education institutions. It brings together over 400 members from more than 60 countries, serving as a platform for academic cooperation, research collaboration, and student and staff mobility. The association organizes international conferences and thematic networks to address global challenges through design education and creative practice.

Global Academy of Liberal Arts (GALA)

As an international community of diverse, innovative, and socially responsible universities and colleges, GALA transforms lives and enhances global understanding through interdisciplinary collaboration in teaching and research. It was established in 2014 by Bath University and currently has 16 partners in 13 countries. GALA provides access to teaching and research expertise, mobility and collaborative opportunities for students, faculty, and staff, and access to international funding opportunities.

Baltic University Programme (BUP)

BUP is one of the world’s largest university networks, dedicated to education and research on sustainable development and democracy. Founded in 1991, it connects 115 universities located across the Baltic Sea region and fosters internationalization, collaboration, and mobility. The main goal of BUP is to achieve internationalization in practice for a sustainable Baltic Sea region, support strong academic and research communities, new forms of interaction, and cooperation in sustainability education.

VITAE

Vitae is a non-profit program run by the charity the Careers Research and Advisory Centre (CRAC), which provides research, intelligence and innovation services to those who support career development. CRAC and Vitae have experience in research projects in areas such as career tracking, research culture and researcher development. They foster professional development of researchers and promote open, inclusive and supportive working environments by outlining the behaviors and values required to achieve these.

Magna Charta
Universitatum

We are a signatory of the Magna Charta Universitatum and a member of the Magna Charta Observatory of Fundamental Values. The Magna Charta, which sets out principles of academic freedom and institutional autonomy as a guideline for good governance and self-understanding of universities in the future, has been signed by over 900 universities from 88 countries.

The Magna Charta Observatory of Fundamental Values and Rights (MCO) is the global guardian of fundamental university values and assists universities and higher education institutions to operate effectively in accordance with these principles.

Polish academic organizations

In Poland, our University plays an active role in the Conference of Rectors of Academic Schools (CRASP), the representative body of academic schools and the science community in the country. CRASP safeguards traditional academic values, including the constitutional principle of autonomy afforded to higher education institutions. The principle guarantees the right of these institutions to present their positions on all issues of interest to the academic community.

We are also a member of Polska Unia Edukacyjna (Polish Education Union), an organization that represents interests of non-public education institutions of all levels of education in Poland, and Forum Uniwersytetów Zaangażowanych (Engaged Universities Forum), a platform dedicated to strengthening and coordination of social and community engagement of its members and to supporting research and educational initiatives aligned with the development of the so-called Third Mission of universities.

Professional associations

Our faculty actively participate in activities of over 40 academic and professional associations, societies and organizations, which represent various disciplines, including Psychology (17 organizations), Philosophy, Cultural Studies, South Asian Studies, Management Studies, Political Science, Health Studies, Law, Translation, and Neuroeconomics. Some notable examples include American Psychological Association, European Health Psychology Society, Association for Psychological Science, International Association for Philosophy of Law and Social Philosophy, International Association for Translation and Intercultural Studies, Society for Neuroeconomics, European Association for South Asian Studies, and Association for Cultural Studies.
