Katarzyna Bąkowicz, Ph.D. is a researcher in the European project Central European Digital Media Observatory. She researches the phenomenon of disinformation, in particular in the business sector. She also investigates the social impact of media manipulation.
Katarzyna is an Assessor of the European Fact-Checking Standards Network and a member of the Advertising Council. She has founded a Task Force for Ethical and Responsible Communication operating as part of the United Nations Global Compact Network Poland (UNGCNP).
As an expert and consultant specializing in business and media communication, she designs and implements internal and external communication solutions for various organizations, in particular concerning public relations and corporate social responsibility (CSR). Some of her customers include Allegro, Henkel, Microsoft, and Enea S.A..
Dr. Bąkowicz writes and produces radio and television programs on business communication. She authored several books, including Fake news. Produkt medialny czasów postprawdy (Fake News. A Product of the Post-Truth Era) and Dezinformacja – instrukcja obsługi (Disinformation. A Manual).
