Marta Porębiak, Ph.D. is a psychologist, psychotherapist, and psycho-oncologist. She researchers close relationships and their impact on psychological wellbeing. She holds a European Certificate of Psychotherapy issued by the European Association of Psychotherapy (ECP EAP). She is also a certified psycho-oncologist — certification by the Polish Psycho-oncology Society (PTPO), and a certified supervisor of psycho-oncological therapy — certification by PTPO.
Apart from teaching at SWPS University, Dr. Porębiak also lectures at institutions that train medical doctors and nurses, for example the European School of Oncology, Psycho-Social Academy of International Psycho-Oncology Society, and the Polish Medical Association’s Graduate School of Aesthetic Medicine.
She runs her private psychotherapeutic practice for individuals and couples. She works with English speaking patients and clients who live in Poland. She also collaborates with the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA) and student organizations, where she provides her expertise to support the academic community, in particular international students living in Poland.
Dr. Porębiak is a board member the Polish Psycho-oncology Society and a member of the European Association for Psychotherapy, the Polish Psychological Association, and the Polish Society for Psychodynamic Psychotherapy.
At SWPS University she teaches psychology in English for undergraduate and graduate students. She also conducts classes in family therapy for graduate students attending SWPS University's postgraduate program “Psychotherapy in psycho-oncology”.
