The Sopot Campus of SWPS University of Social Sciences and Humanities is located in a picturesque seaside resort on the Baltic Sea. It neighbours a historic Hipodrom - a horse racing track built in the 19th century, and a station of the local railway line that connects the Tri-city of Gdańsk, Gdynia and Sopot. The historic building of the Sopot Campus houses several classrooms, lecture halls, computer labs and a professional laboratory for conducting psychological research. Students have access to a cosy bistro and can relax and work in a specially dedicated Student Zone. There is also a kids' corner, where students and faculty can leave their children under the supervision of qualified personnel, while they attend or teach classes.
EXPERIMENTAL RESEARCH LaboratorYThe professional psychological research laboratory at the Sopot Campus offers a focus group facility with a one-way mirror, cameras and a PA system, where researchers can monitor and record behavioral tests and group interactions. Additionally, they have access to a psycho-galvanometer and a BIOPAC system, which measure and record physiological reactions and facial expressions.
ACCESSIBLE COMPUTER LABSAt the Sopot Campus, lectures and workshops take place in multimedia rooms equipped with the latest AV equipments. Students have an all-day access to a computer lab that offers professional research software.
LIBRARY AND READING ROOMThe computerized library at the Sopot Campus holds over 13,000 volumes on psychology, philosophy, sociology, cultural studies and other disciplines. Additionally, the library offers numerous Polish journals devoted to psychology and several electronic databases, including: EBSCO, PsycINFO, PsycARTICLES, SocINDEX, Elsevier, and Wiley Online Library. SWPS University of Social Sciences and Humanities is an equal opportunity institution and welcomes students with special needs and special access requirements. The Sopot Campus provides parking spaces for students with disabilities and is equipped with ramps and restrooms that meet accessibility guidelines. Additonally, all doors to administrative offices are equpped with a call-hear system, enabling easy access for individuals with motor disabilities. Additionally, all rooms are marked with numbers in Braille alphabet.
