Kuba Piwowar is a sociologist and cultural researcher. He holds a degree in Sociology from SWPS University and completed post-graduate Gender Studies at the Institute of Literary Research of the Polish Academy of Sciences (PAN), Art History at the Collegium Civitas, and the Marketing Academy at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
He defended his doctoral thesis on algorithmic exclusion at SWPS University, where he currently works as an Assistant Professor.
Dr. Piwowar specializes in market research and socio-cultural aspects of technology and new media. He is also interested in big data and ethics in data analysis.
Additionally, since 2008, he has been employed by Google as an analyst and currently, as a digital transformation advisor working with key business partners.
He published numerous articles in Kultura Współczesna and Humanizacja Pracy. He also co-authored chapters in books on market research and presented results of his research at conferences in Poland, Israel, and Germany.
He is a board member of the Polish Association of Market and Public Opinion Researchers. At SWPS University he teaches classes in socio-cultural aspects of technologies, critical data analysis, methodology of media researcher, artificial intelligence and new media.
