Professor Magdalena Marszał-Wiśniewska is a psychologist. She specializes in psychology of individual differences as well as well as personality psychology and psychopathology. Her main research interests include individual differences in affect regulation and self-control, persistence in action, time perspectives, and the role of situational and individual factors in the formation of false memories, in the forced fabrication paradigm. As a proponent of a differential-processual approach, she combines questionnaire-based and experimental research.
For many years, she was combining research, academic teaching, with psycho-therapeutic and coaching practice. She specialized in brief therapy (mainly in the Ericksonian therapy), and addiction therapy.
Professor Marszał-Wiśniewska authored numerous publications on persistence in action, volitional control and techniques of testing of this cognitive process, affect regulation, personality structure, and behavior in difficult situations and mood disorders [ID: https://orcid.org/0000-0002-1423-3660].
At SWPS University she teaches classes in psychology of individual differences and is a Master’s thesis advisor.
