Natalia Wójcik, Ph.D. is a certified cognitive-behavioral psychotherapist (certificate no. 1378 issued by the Polish Association for Cognitive and Behavioural Therapy (PTTPB), specializing in the third wave approach, in particular the Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
Professionally, she is particularly interested in trauma and attachment. Her research projects focus on self-control, self-regulation, cognitive fatigue, and motivation for information processing. She is also interested in the latest psychotherapy methods, such as the development of somatic therapies and the application of psychedelics in psychotherapy. She favors the transdiagnostic, humanistic, and neurobiological approach to mental health.
She was a principal investigator in a research project “Mental effort in the process of self-control: the role of valuation process and changes in the subjective experience of mental fatigue”, funded by the National Science Centre (NCN). She was also a researcher in other projects funded by NCN.
She co-authored numerous articles in professional journals, such as the Quarterly Journal of Experimental Psychology, Learning & Instruction, and Psychological Science.
Dr. Wójcik is the President of the Bez Klamek Foundation, which aims to educate the society about mental health and psychological disorders. She co-manages Nurty, a psychotherapy and psychoeducation center in Kraków.
At SWPS University she teaches classes in clinical psychology, psychotherapy, and psychological skills.
