Paweł Muniak is a social psychologist. He researches social influence, in particular the phenomenon of mimicry.
Currently, he is pursuing a doctoral degree at SWPS University’s Doctoral School and is a research fellow in a project “The impact of interpersonal coordination on the spill-over effect. Understanding the spreading effects of mimicry”, funded by the National Science Center, which is carried out by SWPS University’s Center for Research on Social Relations. Paweł is also interested in the phenomenon of irrational optimism. He investigates why people think that bad things happen to others and not them.
Paweł authored and co-authored conference presentations, popular science publications, and articles that appeared in Polish and international academic journals, including the Journal of Experimental Social Psychology and Zeitschrift für Psychologie. He also co-authored articles in Social Psychology, and the Journal of Nonverbal Behavior.
At SWPS University, he teaches classes in social psychology, critical analysis of psychological texts, methodology, and statistics.
