Tomasz Wołódźko is a media researcher and radio journalist with 20-years of professional experience. His research interests focus on the ways sport is presented in the media and on sound communication in public spaces.
He works for Radio Eska Wrocław, the largest network of commercial radio stations in Poland. He is the publisher and Editor in Chief of Wrocławska Gazeta Kolarska, a special interest magazine, appearing online and in print, for enthusiasts of road cycling and mountain biking. He also created and co-authors monthly film chronicles that focus on local issues and events of the Lower Silesia region of Poland – “Kronika Wrocławia” and “Kronika Dolnego Śląska” – which are screened in movie theatres.
He gained professional experience working as program coordinator for the Wrocław branch of Telewizja Polska (Polish public broadcaster), Editor in Chief and Story Editor at Radio Eska Wrocław, and a journalist at Polish dailies, such as Gazeta Wyboracz and Życie Warszawy. He also run commercial training sessions on public speaking, media relations, integrated marketing communication, crisis management, and personal branding.
Tomasz Wołodźko authored a chapter titled “Intencja jako 'differentia specifica' dziennikarza wobec blogera, influencera i mediaworkera (na przykładzie komunikowania medialnego w polskim kolarstwie)” (Intention as differentia specifica in the work of journalists vs. work of bloggers, influencers and media-workers (in media messages devoted to Polish cycling)” in a book “Dziennikarz, mediaworker, influencer. O kontekstach dziennikarskiej profesji” (Journalist, Media-Worker, Influencer. About Different Contexts of Journalistic Professoin”), edited by Karina Stasiuk-Krajewska (published by PWN, 2019).
At SWPS University he teaches classes in sound branding, radio journalism, management of media companies, brand management, journalistic and media ethics, and communication skills.
