Profile

Professor Adam Wellstead has been a professor of public policy at Michigan Technological University since 2011.

Prior to that, he worked for the Canadian federal government with the Department of Natural Resources (Canadian Forest Service), for 15 years. He undertook research and a program management role, working with forest-based communities and First Nations bands.

He has extensively researched policy capacity and policy work with research conducted in Canada, the Czech Republic, and Australia. More recently, he has undertaken research and published articles on evidence-based policy making and the role of causal mechanisms in public process research. Over the past three years, he has collaborated with international colleagues examining the role of policy innovation labs.
