The Senate of SWPS University develops and approves the strategy of the University and reviews reports on its implementation. It passes key regulations on educational affairs, such as study rules, the admission process, as well as study programs for the undergraduate, graduate, post-graduate and doctoral studies. Moreover, the Senate evaluates new study programs at SWPS University and issues selected internal rules and regulations, in particular related to copyright management, rules of commercialization, and the use of research infrastructure. Other competencies of the Senate include: granting honorary degrees (doctor honoris causa), approving the procedure for granting academic degrees, and conducting proceedings related to granting professorial titles.
