About the Conference
Join us for the international academic conference, Lux a Meridi: Influences of Mediterranean Cultures on Scandinavian Area Countries Exemplified in Literature, Film and Arts, taking place from October 21 to 22, 2026.
Hosted by the Dean of the Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies in Kraków at SWPS University, the event will be held in the university's newly renovated, historic building located right in the heart of the city.
Conference Focus
The primary goal of the conference is to explore and showcase the influence of Mediterranean cultures on Nordic countries through the lens of literature, film, and art. We welcome scholars, doctoral candidates, and students from universities in Poland and around the world.
Conference Languages
Presentations may be delivered in English, Danish, Norwegian, or Swedish. However, because we anticipate a diverse audience of non-Nordic speakers, English is the preferred language for the event.
Social Events & Networking
Beyond panel discussions and paper presentations, the program features several social and networking activities, including a guided tour of historic Kraków and a shared conference dinner.
