International Strategy

Internationalization
of organizational culture

Peter Drucker, a renowned researcher and theoretician of management studies, claimed that even the best strategic plans will not lead to success if they are not supported by organizational culture. Therefore, creating conditions conducive to internationalization, and shaping organizational culture accordingly is an important goal of our strategy.

To meet the demands of the fast changing economic and social environment in a globalized world, we need to implement global standards in education and administration, improve language and cultural competencies of our students and employees, adjust our organizational structure, and attract international academics and researchers.

Instilling the importance of internationalization in the organization

To ensure an effective attainment of our strategic goals, our whole community, including academics and administrative staff, needs to understand and support the strategic goal of internationalization. Acknowledging the contribution of every employee in the implementation of our strategy should translate into the sense of ownership and support for particular goals, such as internationalization.

Developing language and cultural skills

Instilling bilingual culture – improving communication

We understand that clear communication is key to any success. Instilling bilingual culture (Polish and English) in all our communications will help international students and academics to feel more at home at SWPS University, facilitate better exchange of ideas, and will support development of language skills of our students and employees.

Improving language and cultural competencies

One of the goals of internationalization is fostering new development and professional opportunities for our academic, research, and administrative staff. Therefore, we support our employees in the development of their language skills and cultural competencies, which opens doors to international opportunities.

Implementing unified processes

Fostering internationalization

Introducing established standards, procedures, and regulations concerning international cooperation and initiatives is an important element of SWPS University’s international strategy. This will improve the development and implementation of many initiatives, and will increase the overall quality of undertaken projects. Unified standards will also ensure easier auditing of the defined goals and processes.

Evolution of organizational structure

Supporting the process of internationalization

For our strategy to be successful, we need to adjust our organizational structure to support the goal of internationalization. Therefore, apart from the International Office, we have established organizational units dedicated to international collaborations at all our Faculties. We believe that nearly all of our initiatives should support internationalization of SWPS University.

Increasing the number of international academics
among permanent faculty

Another crucial goal of our internationalization process is to increase the number of international permanent faculty. Permanent collaborations with academics and researchers from different countries, who represent different cultures and bring a wealth of experience complementing our strengths, enriches our talent pool and improves teaching and research outcomes.
