Tuition discount scheme for candidates applying to the "PATHS Forced Migration: Europe in the Global Context" program

The Path to Education scholarshp empowers individuals from diverse economic backgrounds by lowering tuition costs to help them achieve their academic goals.

About the scholarship

Who can apply?

The Path to Education tuition discount scheme is addressed to candidates applying to the "PATHS Forced Migration: Europe in the Global Context" program for the academic year 2026/2027.

What can you gain?

The scholarship offers tuition fee discounts at the following levels:

  1. A 75% tuition fee discount for a maximum of 15% of students admitted to the program.
  2. A 50% tuition fee discount for a maximum of 30% of students admitted to the program.

Eligibility

The following regulations govern the scholarship program:

  • The tuition fee discount applies to the tuition fee due for the standard duration of the program, provided that you retain student status and remain registered in the program in accordance with the applicable rules.
  • The entitlement to the discount will end if you take a leave of absence or fail to successfully complete the academic year.
  • No cash value: This benefit is applied directly to your tuition fees and cannot be exchanged for cash or other alternatives.

How to apply?

Application step-by-step

Submit your request for the tuition discount online through the SWPS University admissions portal at the same time you apply for admission to the “PATHS Forced Migrations” program by midnight on July 31, 2026. Application Form

  1. Fill out the scholarship request form: The form is available within the online admissions system.
  2. Submit your personal statement: A short letter explaining your financial situation and why you are applying for the discount. Your statement must:
    • Be written in English.
    • Explain why you need a tuition fee discount in order to participate in the program.
    • Present an overview of your current financial circumstances.
    • Include information about your sources of income (e.g., employment, family, savings, or benefits).
    • Tell us about your current ability (or limitations) to pay the standard tuition fees.
    • Outline how you plan to cover the travel and living costs associated with moving between partner countries for this joint international program.
    • Provide any other relevant circumstances that highlight your financial need (please avoid sharing sensitive personal data, such as health or medical records).

Assessment of applications

 

Criteria

Requests for the Path to Education scholarship are evaluated strictly on financial need. To determine eligibility, the Selection Committee reviews only the following details:

  • Your Income: The financial figures shown in your tax certificate (or official declaration).
  • Your Personal Statement: The details and explanations you provide about your financial situation.
  • Documentation: The overall consistency and clarity of the information you submit.
  • Availability: The total number of tuition discounts available at each discount level.

Decision making

We follow the following guidelines in assessing the scholarship appllications:

  • Scholarships are awarded first to applicants whose documents demonstrate the greatest financial need.
  • If two or more applicants show the exact same level of financial need, priority will be given to the person who submitted their application first.

Results

 

Announcement of results

All applicants will be notified of their application results via email by September 15, 2026.
