Antoine Rivière is Associate Professor of History of Education and Childhood at the Institute for the History of Present Times (IHPT), National Center for Scientific Research at the University of Paris 8.

Research Interests

His research examines abandoned children, youth protection policies, and institutional frameworks since the 19th century. More recently, his work has centered on orphaned children during the wars of the 20th century.

Research Projects

He coordinates the following research programs:

• FIDOVI research program on Jewish children taken into care by social services during World War II, funded by the National Research Agency (ANR)
• AdoptRisk project on child adoption in France from the 1920s to the present day, funded by the National Research Agency (ANR)
