Evelina Staykova is an Associate Professor at the Department of Political Science of New Bulgarian University, specializing in the complex dynamics of urban politics, migration, and populism. She also serves as General Secretary of the Centre for European Refugees, Migration and Ethnic Studies (CERMES), an organization on migration studies in Bulgaria.
Research Projects
With a robust track record in international research collaboration, she currently leads the ConnectBG project (2023-2027) and the CitisenUnited project (2026-2029), further expanding her work on democratic engagement and migration policy. Her research, published extensively in Bulgaria and abroad, continues to bridge the gap between academic theory and pressing societal challenges.
