Laura Vagni is a Full Professor of Comparative Private Law at the University of Macerata, where she teaches courses in comparative private law, comparative legal system, and comparative law and international contracts.

Research Interests

Her main research interests include European private law, contract law, and property and trust law.

Research Projects

She has an extensive track record of international research and collaborative project leadership, with key contributions including:

• European Project Leadership: Coordinating and participating in multiple EU-funded projects focused on active ageing and intergenerational relationships, environmental and social sustainability, the impact of new technologies on the law, and, in particular, on health law.
• International Research Appointments: Conducting research outside of Italy, in particular in the United Kingdom at the University of Edinburgh School of Law and the University College London (UCL) Faculty of Law.

Leadership Roles

She holds several leadership and institutional roles at the University of Macerata and within the broader legal community:

• Vice-Rector for Education at the University of Macerata (since 2024)
• Chair of the Scientific Council for the Department of Law at the University of Macerata (2021–2024)
• Board Member of the "Law and Innovation" doctoral program at the University of Macerata's Department of Law (since 2011)
