About the Seminar
We are pleased to announce that the online seminar titled “Parenthood Regret – Psychological, Social, and Cultural Contexts” will be hosted by SWPS University on October 20, 2025.
The event welcomes researchers who study the phenomenon of regretting parenthood. Our goal is to create a space for dialogue and the exchange of the latest research findings. The seminar will be open to a diverse audience, including academics, practitioners, and parents.
Topics of the seminar include but are not limited to:
- conceptualizations of parenthood regret
- methods of measuring the phenomenon
- the scale of parenthood regret
- underlying causes
- consequences for parents and their children
- support strategies for parents experiencing regret

Call for Papers
We welcome submissions from researchers in all disciplines who study parenthood regret.
Deadline for submissions: July 30, 2025.
Participation in the seminar is free of charge.
Presentation format: Talk (20–30 minutes, depending on the number of accepted proposals; exact presentation times will be provided by the end of August.).
Abstract requirements: 150–250 words.
Submission limit: Up to two proposals per person.
