Dukkeum Sun, Ph.D., is a linguist.
Her research interests include language education, heritage languages, migration, and second language acquisition. In particular, she is interested in learner’s agency, identity, personal multilingualism, translanguaging, bilingualism, and dialogism.
She is currently planning a research project investigating learners of Korean as a second language, in Poland. She will present her findings at an upcoming academic conference.
She published articles on learners of Korean as a heritage language in Finland and about learning Finnish as a second language. Her publications appeared in academic journals, such as Apples-Journal of Applied Language Studies and The Language Learning Journal.
Dr. Sun is also a certified secondary school teacher of English — certification by the Chungnam Office of Education in South Korea.
At SWPS University she teaches classes in Korean language.
