Marcin Zaród, Ph.D., is a sociologist. His research interests include sociology of science, sociology of cybersecurity, science and technology studies, and public understanding of science, with a special focus on knowledge management, cybersecurity management, cybersecurity in human resources, and project management in research.
His latest book — The Sociology of Cybersecurity: An Ethnography of a Science and the Profession — will be published by Routledge in December 2025. His articles also appeared in academic journals, such as Studia Socjologiczne and Kultura i Edukacja.
He was a Principal Investigator in a research project “Actors and Networks in hacking communities. An Ethnography in Science and Technology Studies”, funded by the National Science Center.
He is a member of the Polish Sociological Association (PTS), the Digital Sociology Section, IEEE Society for Social Implications of Technology (SSIT), the European Association for the Study of Science and Technology (EASST), and the Society for Social Studies of Science.
At SWPS University he teaches introduction to social research, introduction to business research, organizational relations, management and burnout, and forecasting and data science.
