Mariusz Zięba, Ph.D., is a psychologist. His research interests focus on trauma, life crises, positive psychology, and narrative psychology.
He investigates psychological determinants of coping with significant life changes and critical life events, and factors that lead to posttraumatic growth. In this context he is mainly interested in the role of such factors as basic trust, hope, and compassion, including self-compassion, play in this process. In his research he uses qualitative methods, including narrative analysis and thematic analysis. He also researchers the effectiveness of positive psychological interventions.
At SWPS University in Poznań, he teaches personality psychology, psychology of developmental and existential crisises, as well as psychometrics and psychological diagnosis.
