SWPS University first in Poland in THE Young Universities Ranking 2022
Last year SWPS University was the only higher education institution in Poland included in the ranking. This year, we have been joined by the University of Warmia and Mazury that has been ranked at 401+.
We are especially pleased that our scores in all five assessment categories, including teaching, research, citations, industry income and international outlook have improved as compared to the previous year. We have made the largest progress in the citations and research categories.
With over 20 research centers and nearly 600 authors of scholarly papers, affiliated with SWPS University, we are one of the most active research universities in Poland. Psychology is visibly our strongest field of expertise, comprising more than 60 percent of our academic output in English, and securing the majority of our research grants. With over 20 percent of our publications in top world journals and over 2,400 papers in Scopus, SWPS University is a unique research-focused private higher education institution in Central and Eastern Europe.
Times Higher Education Young University Ranking
The Times Higher Education Young University Rankings apply the same methodology as the World University Rankings to assess research-intensive universities across all their core missions: teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook. However, the weightings are recalibrated to reflect the profile of missions of young universities.
The ranking includes institutions that were founded between 1971 and the present, i.e. universities that have been established less than 50 years ago.
The performance indicators are grouped into five areas: teaching (the learning environment); research (volume, income and reputation); citations (research influence); international outlook (staff, students and research); and industry income (knowledge transfer).
