Marcin Walecki
is the Former Head of Democratization Department of the Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights, one of the world’s principal regional human rights bodies, and the first Executive Director of the European Partnership for Democracy (www.epd.eu). He has over 25 years of democratic governance, elections, rule of law, anti-corruption, academic and management experience working in more than 50 countries around the world. Dr. Walecki consulted on, and conducted Council of Europe, USAID, EU, DFID, IDEA, OECD, UNODC and UNDEF democratization and rule of law programs. He has written for numerous publications on democratization, political corruption, elections, women political participation and political parties. He holds a Ph.D. in Politics from St. Antony’s College at Oxford University and a Master’s in Law (Hons, Class I) from the Department of Law and Administration at the University of Warsaw. Former Max Weber Fellow at EUI and Visiting Fellow at St Antony’s College, Oxford University.
