The goal of the Summer School on the Rule of Law, organized jointly by SWPS University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the University of Oslo, is to integrate scholars, postgraduate students and professionals around the idea of the rule of law. It is an educational project with research and networking opportunities.

Program
The program of our summer school will focus on topics related to the rule of law, in particular:
- legal education
- legal aid
- strategic litigation
- judicial resistance methods
- fair trial standards
- advocacy for the rule of law
- communicating issues concerning the rule of law (raising general awareness of the rule of law).
Additinally, thanks to the location and the schedule of the Summer School, students will have an opportunity to participate in the official celebrations of the historical August Accords (singed on August 31, 1980 by the representatives of the Solidarity movement and the then communist government of Poland). The celebrations, which are usually attended by many European and Polish officials, provide a historical background to the events that brought on a democratic transformation in the Central and Eastern Europe.
