Karolina Koprowska is an Assistant at the Institute of Jewish Studies. She is currently pursuing a doctorate in cultural studies at the Faculty of Polish Studies at the Jagiellonian University. She graduated with a double diploma in Polish and Jewish Studies from the Jagiellonian University. She completed courses in Yiddish language and culture at the International Summer Language and Culture School organized by the Center for Yiddish Culture in Warsaw, the Uriel Weinreich Program in Yiddish Language, Literature, and Culture (YIVO Institute for Jewish Research), and the Naomi Prawer Kadar International Yiddish Summer Program (Tel Aviv University). She was a Principal Investigator in a research project “Place of birth as a category of culture studies. Migrations — identity — memory” (2016-2020), financed by the Diamond Grant funding scheme provided by the Ministry of Education and Science. She is a member of the Curators’ Collective, which collaborates with the Research Center for Memory Cultures (Faculty of Polish Studies at the Jagiellonian University). Since 2019, she has been a member of the board of the Polish Association for Yiddish Studies.
