Our double degree Media and Communication Management program, offered in cooperation with Macromedia University in Germany, is designed to train brand and media managers of the future. During the first year, you will study at SWPS University in Wrocław, Poland, where you will gain indispensable practical and analytical competencies, such as insight, foresight and various research techniques. You will also learn how to develop brand, communication and management strategies.

In your second year of studies, you will move to Macromedia University in Munich or Berlin, in Germany, where you will have an opportunity to complete real tasks and practical projects at renowned companies such as Siemens, Adobe or Sky.

After successful completion of the program students receive the following diplomas:

  • Master's Degree in Communication and Media from SWPS University
  • Master's Degree in Media and Communication Management from Macromedia University

Our program is addressed to individuals who favor a strategic approach to their professional careers and who aim to become independent in their professional lives. The program will help them to enhance their business competencies, such as project management, creative thinking and managing business cooperation. The program will be of interest to students who see their professional future in one of the fastest developing sectors of economy, i.e. in creative industries.


Students are accepted to the program based on their academic performance, motivation and language skills. The requirements for the double degree program are as follows:

  • Bachelor's degree diploma in any field
  • Demonstrated English language proficiency (TOEFL (iBT) with at least 72 out of 120 points or IELTS with at least 6.0 out of 9.0, or equivalent).

Our graduates go on to successful careers in branding and advertising agencies, PR companies, design and graphic design studios, film and advertisement production companies, public administration and public organizations, the third sector, consulting companies, which specialize in internal and external communication optimization and management, various media outlets (both traditional and digital), new media, as well as the entertainment and creative industry, in roles, such as content managers, designers of communication campaigns and social networking managers.

First year in Wrocław, Poland

At SWPS University, the program is focused on teaching practical skills. Theoretical background that we provide supports the development of indispensable practical and analytical competencies, such as insight, foresight, startegy development and research techniques, e.g. the use of eye-tracking equipment.

You will learn how to manage brand potential and how to plan, develop and implement communication strategies, including elements such as branding, public relations and advertising. You will acquire skills, which will allow you to analyze trends in media communication and how to apply the results of this analysis to develop your own projects. You will not only learn how to manage content, but also how to design various media channels, such as blogs, internet pages, systems of internal communication for companies and public administration as well as audiovisual media for brand communication, including ads, film, internet pages and social media profiles. You will become familiar with the media market and the latest trends in media communication.

During the course of study, you will learn and develop your own interests and projects during workshops, which take place in studios and labs equipped with professional tools of the trade, such as computer labs, photo and radio studios as well as a focus group facility with a one-way mirror.

You will have an opportunity to learn from professionals who have gained extensive experience in the creative industries sector. Our team includes renowned theoreticians and accomplished practitioners, who combine academic teaching with practical experience and are passionate about sharing their knowledge, inspiring young people and supporting the development of students’ ideas and projects. We foster creativity through partnership with our students.

At the end of the first year, you will be required to formulate the topic of your thesis.

To fulfill SWPS University’s diploma requirements, you must complete a working internship during your second year at Macromedia University.


Second year in Munich or Berlin, Germany

At Macromedia University, you will have an opportunity to complete real tasks and practical projects often with renowned companies that are part of the university's network, such as Siemens, Adobe or Sky. During the first semester you will gain analytical skills, which you will apply in the second semester to conduct research for your evidence-based Master’s thesis. You will also gain theoretical knowledge indispensable for professionals working in creative industries.

You will have classes three days a week, which will allow you to find an internship employment and work for two days a week (240 hours of internship are required to fulfil the diploma requirements at SWPS University). Munich, a home to numerous corporations and international companies, and Berlin, a hub for media and communications start-ups, offer ample opportunities for student internships. Thanks to the internships and practical projects completed in cooperation with business partners, many students find employment right after graduation.

Macromedia University is one of the largest German universities for professionally-oriented courses in media management, design and business administration.
