Ewelina Hryniewiecka-Trujnara holds two Master’s degrees — in English Studies and in American Studies from the American Studies Center at the University of Warsaw. She also completed a Graduate Certification Program in Legal and Court Translation at the Interdisciplinary Postgraduate Studies in Translation and Interpreting (IPSKT), at the University of Warsaw. She gained practical experience through a legal translation internship at Domański, Zakrzewski, Palinka (DZP) law firm.
At SWPS University she teaches practical English and business English at the Department of English Studies. She also runs interdepartmental electives in cultural studies, which focus on the portrayal of Black women and stereotypes in the media.
She also collaborates with the Kozminski University, where she runs English conversation classes.
Ewelina is pursuing a doctoral degree in cultural studies. Her thesis is on the portrayals of Black women in American culture. She published articles on Harriet Tubman, an Afro-American activist who helped slaves from the United States escape to Canada through the so-called Underground Railroad, and on stereotypical portrayals of men in the media.
In addition, she has an extensive experience of working for various companies and running English courses for business clients and public institutions, such as Toyota, Orange, McDonald’s, Douglas, the Senate of the Republic of Poland, and the Institute of National Remembrance).
