Katarzyna Wiecheć, Ph.D., specializes in clinical psychology and positive psychology. She researches how various factors in chronic illness (including somatic illness), and their treatment, impact cognitive functions and the quality of life. She is also interested in factors that influence the process of coping with trauma, in particular post-traumatic growth (PTG) and post-traumatic depreciation (PTD).
From 2017 to 2022, she was a research fellow in a project “The search for meaning and sense of life and personal growth following trauma: a prospective study”, funded by the National Science Centre (grant no., 2013/10/E/HS6/00502).
She also runs a private practice that offers cognitive-behavioral psychotherapy.
At SWPS University, she teaches classes in personality, clinical psychology, health psychology, psychopathology, psychological assessment, advanced assessment, and support in crisis situations.
