About the scholarship

Scholarship for International Candidates

The aim of the scholarship is to support international candidates who excel in academic achievement and are engaged in their community, arts or sports.

Who can apply?

International candidates who:

  • Apply to a full-time, undergraduate (Bachelor's degree) or graduate (Master's degree) program in English.
  • Upload all required documents to the Application Portal and passed the entrance exam (if required for their program of study). Please note: document verification may take up to 5 business days — take this into consideration when submitting your scholarship contest entry.
  • Write an essay on the topic specified in Section 5 of the Scholarship Regulations, i.e. "The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existence," Albert Einstein. Discuss the value of intellectual curiosity in your chosen field of study or in your community. Describe a time when persistent questioning or seeking knowledge outside the curriculum led you to a significant discovery, a solution to a problem, or a shift in your perspective.
  • Complete all the remaining requirements of the scholarship competition.

What can you win?

You can win one of ten scholarships covering the first year tuition fee.

If in the following years, you achieve a grade point average (GPA) that is at least 0.1 higher than the average GPA of the entire group of students in your year of study, the scholarship may be extended.

How to apply?

Follow these six steps to apply for the scholarship

  1. Apply online to a full-time undergradaute or graduate program in English vian the Application Form
  2. Submit all documents specified by SWPS University’s admissions regulations
  3. Pass the entrance exam (if applicable to your program of study)
  4. Read the Regulation on granting the "Scholarships for International Candidates"    
  5. Write and submit an essay on the topic specified in the above-noted Regulation
  6. Submit documents confirming your athletic achievements, engagement in the arts or community-related projects
  7. Submit the Scholarship Application Form by July 15, 2026, 23:59 CEST.

Winners will be announced by July 24, 2026.

You can apply for the Scholarship for International Candidates if you are applying to one of the following programs:

Review the list of applicable graduate programs (Mater's degrees). Please note: the scholarship does NOT apply to the Erasmus Mundus Global Minds program.
