Art of Michał Loba – Graduate of School of Form – Exhibited in New York

Graphic designs of Michał Loba, who graduated with a diploma in Communication Design from SWPS University’s School of Form, have been exhibited at one of the Maison Kitsuné’s flagship stores in Manhattan, New York.

Illustrator from School of Form in New York

As of July 15th, shoppers who visit the Maison Kitsuné store in Manhattan have an opportunity to view several dozen graphic designs created by our alumnus, Michał Loba. The exposition includes older works and those created especially for the occasion. A recurring theme of the illustrations is coffee, which links to Maison Kitsuné’s coffee shops that are part of the brand’s concept stores.

Michał Loba’s style is characterized by miniature simplified forms and minimalistic color palette. His art inspirations include Geoff McFetridge, Piet Parra, and newspaper illustrations. Michał’s aesthetics has been shaped by the renowned Polish graphic artists, such as Bohdan Butenko, Henryk Jerzy Chmielewski, Jan Młodożeniec, and the artists of the Polish School of Poster Art.

The exhibition is available until the end of August.

School of Form - Unique Design School

The philosophy of School of Form revolves around human-centered design that tries to understand people and meet their needs. At School of Form we teach human-centered design. Students not only learn how to design products, but also how to make them in different technologies, and prepare them manufacturing. They also acquire some business skills and learn how to network with business partners. The unique program of study, which combines elements of design and humanities, has been developed by a team of experts lead by Lidewij Edelkoort, former Director of the Design Academy Eindhoven and School of Form’s mentor.
