Prof. Adam Szpaderski Appointed Chief Consultant of Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum

We are proud to announce that our researcher, Associate Professor Adam Szpaderski, Head of the Center for Research on the Economics of Memorial Sites, has been appointed Chief Consultant for Strategy and Education Management by the Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum in Oświęcim.

Chief Consultant for Strategy and Education Management

The chief consultant for strategy and education management at the Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum in Oświęcim advises the director of the international center for education about Auschwitz and the Holocaust on matters involving the creation, development and implementation of strategy and education management. The role also involves preparation of relevant analyzes, publications, and provision of recommendations. Moreover, the chief consultant initiates and submits strategy and education management projects that are in the scope of activity of the Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum in Oświęcim.

Entrusting me with the position of Chief Consultant for Strategy and Education Management by the Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum in Oświęcim is a great honor for me. It is also of historical significance, because it provides an opportunity for our Center for Research on the Economics of Memorial Sites to contribute to the development and empowerment of the educational mission of the Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial, which is the most recognizable symbol of the Holocaust and genocide in the world.

Associate Professor Adam Szpaderski

Professor Szpaderski utilizes knowledge of management studies and related sciences to create the economics of museums and memorial sites. This new discipline deals with strategies of museums and memorial sites, effective management of education about the Holocaust and related crimes, as well as finances and macroeconomics of museums and memorial sites. The process involves research and promotion of strategic management and education standards of such organizations, in Poland and worldwide, their operational models as well as collaboration with national and international institutions, directors, fundraisers, donors, and curators.

Professor Szpaderski is an author of scientific publications and member of scientific societies in the field of economics and management. He is also a recipient of numerous awards. Recently he has been appointed to the position of Chairman of the Council of the Gross-Rosen Museum in Rogoźnica and member of the jury in the prestigious Sybilla competition, which recognizes the best museums and exhibitions in Poland.

Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum in Oświęcim

The Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial is the most recognizable symbol of the Holocaust and genocide in the world, which, to this day, serves as a clear warning against horrific crimes and human rights violations.

The main task of the Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum in Oświęcim is to commemorate and document the extermination and martyrdom of victims of KL Auschwitz, the largest of the German Nazi concentration camps, where over 1.1 million people were killed.

Auschwitz-Birkenau is the only place of its kind on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
