Our Faculty of Law in Warsaw has joined the European Law Faculties Association (ELFA), an organization of faculties of law that meet the highest standards of legal education. Joining the Association provides our academics and students with an access to a platform for discussion and exchange of ideas and best practices related to the law education in Europe.
The European Law Faculties Association (ELFA) was established in 1995 in Leuven in Belgium, by more than 80 Faculties of Law operating at different universities across Europe. To goal of ELFA is to improve the quality of legal education in Europe by providing an international forum for a discussion on legal topics related to legal education and negotiates.
Furthermore, the aim of ELFA’s activities is to coordinate the process of reform of legal education in Europe, introduce new topics, promote cooperation between Universities in Europe, and represent Law Faculties vis-à-vis European Institutions, National Education Institutions, and Lawyers and Prosecutors’ Associations. The organization also collaborates with governmental agencies and educational entities in Europe and around the word.
Currently, ELFA membership has grown to include over 150 members from countries in Europe and beyond.
Joining ELFA confirms the standing of the Faculty of Law in Warsaw as a faculty that meets the highest standards of legal education. SWPS University’s School of Law has been founded on an innovative concept of teaching. We emphasize the practical aspect of learning and skill acquisition, solving real legal problems, and cooperating with business partners. To ensure that our program meets the current needs of the labor market, we regularly consult with our business partners. Our teaching staff includes not only renowned scholars, but also practitioners, acclaimed lawyers, and experts representing different disciplines such as psychologists, mangers, interpersonal communication experts, mediators, and public speakers.
Throughout their studies, students have an opportunity to gain valuable professional experience and apply the newly-acquired knowledge in practice, by working pro-bono, under the supervision of our law experts, at our Student Legal Services.
Thanks to the cooperation with our external partners, our students may gain additional professional certifications in mediation or in using LEX, the Polish System of Legal Information. More about the LEX Silver Plus Certificates ».
