The concept of creative economy was developed by John Howkins, at the beginning of the 21st century. It describes economic systems where value is based on novel imaginative qualities rather than the traditional resources of land, labor and capital. Sixteen years after the publication of his book The Creative Economy. How People make Money from Ideas, the Creative Economy Research Center at SWPS University is organizing an international conference, where scientists from around the world will present their research results and discuss issues related to this relatively new branch of science.

Moreover, it is an opportunity to review the current knowledge on creative industries in Poland and to define key thematic areas that lie within the scope of the Creative Economy Research Center.
