International Symposium Researching Young Lives 2

International Symposium
Researching Young Lives 2
Organizer: Youth Research Center at SWPS University
The body of knowledge on young people entering adulthood remains fragmented and requires systematization. There is insufficient data about social behaviors, personal and professional experiences, and life choices of young people. Therefore, we need more studies to understand these matters better. The aim of the International Symposium Researching Young Lives 2 is to present results of several research projects on children and young people and provide practical information about research tools for studying behaviors of young people entering adulthood.
Focus of the symposium
The symposium will focus on presenting useful methods of researching the markers of opportunities available to young people, their aspirations and important transitional events, such as moving out of the family home, achieving financial independence, setting up own household, having the first child, and securing the first job. These events take place in a changing social environment and in various contexts, including peer groups, local community, and Internet-based media (such as news portals, television, social media, blogs, ect.).
Presenters and participants
The symposium is addressed to researchers interested in interdisciplinary research on youth behaviors. The participants and presenters include academics from Arizona State University and SWPS University.
