Trauma oriented psychotherapy has proven to be effective in post-traumatic conditions. It involves an extended preparation phase preceding working with trauma. During the seminar Treatment of Dissociative Disorders and Complex Posttraumatic Conditions, Dr. Tagliavini will present the main guidelines for the treatment of complex trauma and dissociation. Additionally, the topic will be explained and exemplified with clinical vignettes.

About the Seminar
The seminar is sponsored by the European Society for Trauma & Dissociation. Dr. Tagliavini will deliver his lecture via an online video-conference from Madrit. Participants will meet at SWPS University in Katowice and will be able to interact with the presenter via the Internet.
The European Society of Trauma and Dissociation (ESTD) is a nonprofit organization devoted to the study and treatment of severe trauma disorders. The seminar is meant as an introduction of the trauma and dissociation topic for the consideration of mental health professionals.
Giovanni Tagliavini, MD is a psychiatrist and psychotherapist from Italy. He has a psychodynamic background, but also integrates multiple approaches to treatment of traumatised / dissociated patients (e.g., sensorimotor psychotherapy, neurofeedback, and therapeutic yoga). He teaches extensively and has translated a few books on trauma and dissociation into Italian (The haunted self, Coping with trauma-related dissociation, and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy - Interventions for trauma and attachment). He is a co-founder of a therapeutic centre in Milan, offering psychotherapy and body mind integration. He was also a board member of the European Society for Trauma & Dissociation (ESTD) from 2012 to 2015.
