The current concept of law seems to be grounded in two models of human: homo politicus and homo economicus. The fast paced technological and scientific growth and the need for environmental protection make the case for the development of two additional models: homo technologicus and homo sustainabiliticus. During the lecture at SWPS University in Katowice, Professor Meir Russ from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, USA will explain what these new models of human entail.

During the lecture Professor Russ will present a new model of human - homo sustainabiliticus, which results from the monumental transformations that are currently underway in societies worldwide.

The homo sustainabilitcus model, proposed by Professor Russ, stems from the fields of economy, environmental protection and social issues.
During the lecture, Professor Russ will answer the following questions :
- How do we define knowledge in the business context, at the beginning of the 21st century?
- How do we define intellectual capital?
- How many labor markets are currently available to us?
- What kind of society and economy do we aim to develop and how can we achieve our goal?
Professor Meir Russ, Austin E. Cofrin School of Business at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, USA
Meir Russ has a Ph.D. from The Ohio State University and is a Professor of Management at the Austin E. Cofrin School of Business at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, USA. He also teaches at KEDGE-Bordeaux School of Management, the University of Pisa, GSA Master program, Nord University’s (Norway) Knowledge Management Master’s program, and at Roma-Tre, Rome, Italy Ph.D. program. His research interests include human capital valuation methods, knowledge-based strategies and the new-knowledge based economic development among others.
In addition to his academic focus, Prof. Russ serves in a consulting capacity with a number of multinational companies in the area of global strategic management and knowledge management. Prof. Russ is the founding editor of The International Journal of Management and Business (IJMB). He is also the Editor-in-Chief of the Online Journal of Applied Knowledge Management (OJAKM).
He has published more than forty articles on these topics and edited five books. Presently he is editing two new books titled: Handbook of Knowledge Management to be published by Wiley; and, Human Capital and Assets in the Networked World to be published by Emerald, both in 2017. He was also named the Frederick E. Baer Professors in Business, 2009-2013; and the Philip J. and Elizabeth Hendrickson Professor in Business in 2014.
