Homo Sustainabiliticus

Homo Sustainabiliticus

The current concept of law seems to be grounded in two models of human: homo politicus and homo economicus. The fast paced technological and scientific growth and the need for environmental protection make the case for the development of two additional models: homo technologicus and homo sustainabiliticus. During the lecture at SWPS University in Katowice, Professor Meir Russ from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, USA will explain what these new models of human entail.

Lecture in English, with Polish translation.

The current concept of law seems to be grounded in two models of human: homo politicus and homo economicus. The fast paced technological and scientific development and the need for environmental protection make the case for additional two models: homo technologicus and homo sustainabiliticus. The homo sustainabilitcus model, proposed by Professor Russ, stems from the fields of economy, environmental protection and social issues.

During the lecture, Professor Russ will answer the following questions :

  1. How do we define knowledge in the business context, at the beginning of the 21st century?
  2. How do we define intellectual capital?
  3. How many labor markets are currently available to us?
  4. What kind of society and economy do we aim to develop and how can we achieve our goal?
