For some people Scandinavia is an interesting travel destination, for others it will always be associated with a special type of social contract and welfare state, for another group Scandinavia equals Vikings. Fjords, Ikea, Bergman and Ibsen are known all over the world. In recent years, there has been a marked increase in demand for speakers of Scandinavian languages. Students often emphasize that the Scandinavian work ethos is an additional motivation for them to study not only Scandinavian languages but also Scandinavian culture and customs.
During the first Scandinavian Career Day at SWPS University, we want to take a closer look at this phenomenon and talk to specialists and practitioners in the field about varoius competences that help to facilitate working in this specific culture and geographic area. Moreover, we will tell you how a fluent competence in a niche language enables you to experience and influence a culture, and create your own job opportunities.
