The National Science Centre (NCN) has published a report related to grants awarded to research institutions in Poland for the period 2011-2016. SWPS University ranked 5th among the top recipients of grants from the NCN.
The NCN is a government agency, supervised by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, established to support basic research in Poland. With an annual budget of over EUR 200M, the NCN funds projects in arts, humanities, social sciences, life sciences, physical sciences, and engineering.

Our Researchers and Their Projects
SWPS University scholars conduct numerous research projects and publish research results in prestigious international journals. Many projects find practical implementation in various areas of business and the economy. Every year the university opens new research centers and laboratories that offer state-of-the-art equipment enabling scholars to conduct high quality research. Moreover, our professional administrative support ensures high effectiveness in securing research grants from external financing sources.
In the period from 2011 to 2016, SWPS University was awarded over PLN 34.5M (over EUR 8M) from the National Science Centre to finance 102 research projects. According to the NCN report, SWPS University ranked 5th among recipients of grants in the disciplines of humanities and social sciences and 8th among research institutions that conducted the largest number of research projects in the reporting period.

High Effectiveness of Securing Grant Funding
Only in 2016, SWPS University received close to PLN 5.5M (EUR 1.3M) for new research projects. The Warsaw Faculty of Psychology received the 4th largest amount of funding in the social sciences discipline, while the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences was ranked 5th among grant recipients that conduct language studies.
Additionally, the report indicated that 40 percent of all research projects submitted by SWPS University had received funding form the NCN, which confirms the quality of research conducted by our academics.
SWPS University is also a proud recipient of research grants from other granting institutions, such as the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, the Foundation for Polish Science, the National Centre for Research and Development, and the European Structural and Investment Fund (ESIF). Our scholars conduct close to 300 research projects a year.
The NCN report indicates that SWPS University is ranked among the best higher education institutions in Poland, in the disciplines of social sciences and humanities. Our collaboration with other research centers around the world enables us to constantly update our undergraduate and graduate study programs. The high quality research we conduct here is the foundation of education at SWPS University.
