Dariusz Kowalski holds a doctorate in Computer Science. He specializes in algorithms, their analysis and applications in biology and other sciences. His professional interests include distributed and parallel computing, algorithms in communication networks as well as fault-tolerance and stability. He contributes to both classical aspects of computer science, and novel technologies, such as secure data processing in the cloud, and optimization of throughput in 5G packet scheduling.
He worked at the University of Quebec (Canada), University of Connecticut (USA), Max Planck Institute for Informatics (Germany), IMDEA Networks (Spain), and the University of Liverpool (UK).
Dr. Kowalski is a member of the editorial board of a prestigious Journal of Computer and System Sciences (Elsevier).
He received the Best Paper award at the 2018 International Colloquium on Automata, Languages and Programming (ICALP), the flagship conference of the European Association for Theoretical Computer Science (EATCS).
He is currently involved in the development of the Department of Computer Studies and a computer studies program at SWPS University.
