Profile

Computer scientist and mathematician, specializing in broadly understood algorithms, their analysis and applications.

His professional interests include distributed and parallel computing, communication in networks, fault-tolerance and stability. He contributes to both classical aspects of computer science, and novel technologies such as robust job scheduling in clouds or optimizing throughput in 5G packet scheduling.

He worked at the University of Quebec (Canada), University of Connecticut (USA), Max Planck Institute for Informatics (Germany), IMDEA Networks (Spain), and University of Liverpool (UK).

Member of the editorial board of a prestigious Journal of Computer and System Sciences (Elsevier). Former General Chair of the PODC 2012, the top conference on the principles of distributed computing.

Recipient of the 2018 awarded for best paper at ICALP 2018, the flagship conference of the European Association for Theoretical Computer Science (EATCS).

He collaborates with biologists on better understanding of robustness of the genetic code and migration processes.

He is currently actively involved in developing a Computer Science Department at SWPS University.
